WRITING POETRY

Writing poetry is like returning to the crime scene

Digging up old pain, translating it into words

Figuring out how a feeling could be put into words

Sometimes it’s not enough, words are not enough

I’ll throw a dictionary at my pain and it still won’t do justice

Being a poet is like serving a life sentence

A conviction set by myself

And I wouldn’t change a thing

WHEN YOU HAVE

When you have a bad dream, you just move on

It feels so real…

But you let it go

Once your body rises

The memories of it slowly drift away, each second

When you have a bad day

Do the same

Wake up and move on the moment you rise up

Don’t be afraid to dream

A. Garcia

YOU WILL NEVER

You will never die

I’ll write about you

Once written, always eternal

Your mistakes will live on

Pen bleeding on the paper

Why would I want to relive it?

It’s like you’re still in front of me

Hearing the words that I was so afraid to say

Once I stop writing you’re gone

I’ll write everyday just to feel you one more time

One last time, I tell myself

I carry a book containing words dedicated to you

You see, it’s not just a book

It’s you

It’s you

It’s you

A. Garcia

SOMETIMES IT JUST HITS YOU

Sometimes it just hits you like a train

With no tracks in sight

Wanting to take refuge indoors

Where it’s “safe”

Not knowing trains can go through walls

Well… only in your world

“We don’t share the same world!” It’s what you want to tell everyone

But you feel vulnerable if you do

You’d rather suffer in silence

Population of 1 in your world

No one entering, no one leaving.
