WRITING POETRY

Writing poetry is like returning to the crime scene

Digging up old pain, translating it into words

Figuring out how a feeling could be put into words

Sometimes it’s not enough, words are not enough

I’ll throw a dictionary at my pain and it still won’t do justice

Being a poet is like serving a life sentence

A conviction set by myself

And I wouldn’t change a thing
